Global Workspace Management IT Services Leader, Getronics, Increases Transaction Volume Support and SLA Compliance Rates with Covast B2B/EDI Solution
ATLANTA - May 23, 2006 - Covast, a leading provider of business-to-business
integration solutions for collaborative business environments, today announced
that Getronics has selected and deployed the Covast EDI Accelerator for Microsoft
BizTalk Server as part of its corporate strategy to enhance its common application
environment. As a result, the company has been able to reduce operational costs,
increase trading partner transaction volumes and increase its compliance rate
to service level agreements.
With an extensive global service partner network and a direct presence in more
than 25 countries, Getronics is a global leader in workspace management IT services.
Prior to implementing the Covast EDI Accelerator and Microsoft BizTalk Server
platform, Getronics used outsourcing partners for integrating application-to-application
and business-to-business environments. The company's previous EDI solution required
Getronics to outsource application development related to EDI, which resulted
in inefficiencies and high maintenance cost.
After selecting the Microsoft BizTalk Server as an integration hub, Getronics
leveraged Covast to provide comprehensive EDI support capabilities. The Covast
EDI Accelerator has allowed Getronics to handle EDI-related application development
in-house, thereby reducing overall solution maintenance costs. The Covast-Microsoft
solution now enables Getronics to process more than 500,000 inbound and outbound
transaction messages a month. All inbound messages are acknowledged within 15
minutes, achieving a near 100 percent compliance rate to Getronics' service level
agreements with trading partners.
The transition between Getronics previous EDI solution and the Covast-Microsoft
solution has been seamless. Because Getronics was transitioning global service
delivery for one of its largest new clients at the same time it was converting
EDI systems, maintaining business continuity has been a top priority.
"Covast was able to partner with us to implement the solution without any
down time. Covast leveraged our strong global alliance with Microsoft, working
seamlessly to enable us to focus on core operations. With BizTalk Server and Covast,
we now have an enhanced common application environment that will support us today
and beyond," said Keith Smallwood, IT director, Getronics.
"More than ever, today's global enterprise requires end-to-end integration.
Internal applications, external systems and trading partners must be able to communicate
in real-time. Covast enables global IT services leaders like Getronics to achieve
this quickly so they can immediately identify cost-saving opportunities across
the enterprise," said Daan Scheer, CEO, Covast.
