BBot Architect Honored with Microsoft’s Prestigious MVP Award Gijsbert in ‘t Veld, Covast CTO and BBot visionary, honored for global technical contributions ATLANTA - April 11, 2007 - Covast, a leading provider of business-to-business
integration solutions for collaborative business environments, today announced
that its chief technology officer, Gijsbert in 't Veld, has received the 2007
Microsoft® Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award. Mr. in 't Veld is also
the architect and visionary behind the world's first B2B integration appliance
for the supply chain - the Covast BBot. This is Mr. in 't Veld's second consecutive
year receiving the MVP award. In effect, he joins an elite group of the world's
most accomplished technical leaders, all of whom have demonstrated unprecedented
contributions to the world of technology.
Mr. in 't Veld receives the MVP award for his technical contributions to Microsoft
BizTalk Server and its role in supply chain integration. For more than five years,
his contributions have been integral to the ongoing development of Microsoft BizTalk
Server and its B2B integration capabilities.
"Gijsbert's expertise and vision have made a tremendous impact on how enterprises
achieve B2B integration. Any company using Microsoft BizTalk Server or a Covast
solution is reaping the rewards of his contributions. Covast is honored to have
him as a technology leader," commented Daan Scheer, CEO, Covast.
In February 2007, under Mr. in 't Veld's technical direction, Covast launched
BBot, the world's first B2B integration appliance for the supply chain. Built
on Microsoft BizTalk Server, BBot automatically integrates the complex supply
chain systems of large hubs with the systems of their smaller customers and suppliers.
BBot requires virtually no maintenance, is self-configuring and needs only a local
area network with internet connection to work. As a result, smaller customers
and suppliers are able to seamlessly integrate with large hubs using Microsoft
Office as an interface thereby improving supply chain visibility, efficiency,
compliance and accuracy.
As a MVP recipient, Mr. in 't Veld has the opportunity to meet Microsoft executives
and network with other technical leaders in his field. He has the opportunity
to share his expertise with the technical community and customers through speaking
engagements, one-on-one customer event participation and technical content development.
Mr. in 't Veld also receives early access to Microsoft technology and has the
ability to influence the future functionalities of their products.
