Eclipse Computing, Covast Transform Supply Chain Speed, Accuracy and Reliability
for Major U.S. Beverage Company
ATLANTA - April 3, 2007 -Covast today announced that the Covast B2B Suite for
Manufacturing has drastically improved the speed, accuracy and reliability of
supply chain transactions for a major U.S. beverage manufacturer. Covast is
the world's leading provider of business-to-business (B2B) integration solutions,
specializing in supply chain operations. The implementation of the Covast solution
was part of a large-scale overhaul of the manufacturer's electronic data interchange
(EDI) systems led by Eclipse Computing, an international business management
software consultancy.
Under Eclipse's systems design and implementation, Covast's solution has significantly
extended the B2B capabilities of this major U.S. beverage manufacturer, which
boasts annual revenues in excess of $35 billion and more than 157,000 employees
across the world. As a result, the manufacturer can now process new orders in
seconds, as compared to several minutes per order under its previous system.
The volume of orders, as well as the number of trading partners transmitting
electronically, has increased exponentially. In addition, Covast's detailed
validation, workflow and rule-sets have reduced the number of errors to less
than one percent as compared to eight percent under the previous system.
Eclipse Computing was originally contracted by the manufacturer to evaluate
its existing EDI infrastructure. After identifying several critical B2B transaction
and integration limitations in the manufacturer's supply chain, Eclipse proposed
a complete web-based design and architecture that included the Covast B2B Suite
for Manufacturing and Microsoft BizTalk Server. Covast's solution was selected
for its proven B2B transaction capabilities, client testimonials and solid industry
reputation.
"The beverage manufacturing industry is highly competitive. What Eclipse
Computing and Covast have given this company is an upper-hand in the marketplace.
The scalability, operational efficiency and the reduction in transaction errors
is a tremendous competitive advantage that translates into higher profit margins
and increased revenues," said Joe Lerro, president of Eclipse Computing.
Lerro continues: "The reason we choose Covast as a solution is due to
their proven leadership in the EDI industry. Our customer requires world class
service and Covast has delivered excellent post implementation service and ongoing
support for their product."
