Grampian Country Food Group: quality integration As the largest independent producer of meat and poultry in the UK, with over
40 sites and 20,000 employees, Grampian Country Food Group (GCFG) supplies
the majority of major High Street retailers with produce, promoting an emphasis
on partnership and quality of service
GCFG wanted to ensure that the integration between its major customers and
their back-office systems was as tight as possible. Once a general integration
backbone had been decided on, Microsoft BizTalk Server, the need to have a fully
functional EDI subsystem within this framework, was quickly seen to be properly
met by only one solution, the Covast EDI Accelerator. It could be quickly
deployed using existing skillsets and was easy to understand and operate.
GCFG now has a complete integration framework which allows them to communicate
with any customer, across any Value Added Network (VAN), using any message format.
They have made large savings on the costs of accessing networks and have a flexible
system that can react dynamically to changing customer requirements.
